Well those cuts of beef tend to be high in saturated fat which isn't great for cholestorol and won't help you to look "lean." Try mixing in some lean cuts of beef and using pork. Basically the more white you see in the steak, the more saturated fat content. Trim away as much of it as you can.

12 ounce New York Strip steak:
Calories - 630 Total fat - 40g

12-ounce Sirloin steak:
Calories - 410 Total fat - 18g

Obviously the sirloin is the better choice. Try skirt steak and make some fajitas with grilled vegetables.

Nah, no heart disease in my family. I did smoke cigarettes for almost three years though.

isn't chicken the best source of protein? and pretty healthy too

I ate chicken breasts and vegetables every night for dinner for almost 5 months prior to switching to steak. There's only so much chicken you can eat before wanting to throw up. And it's very dry.

Only if you suck at cooking.

LOL, because Im always on a time constraint, most of the meat I cook goes on my giant foreman grill. The steaks come out nicely and juicy, but the foreman grill dries the hell out of the chicken breasts.

Dude! What are you talking about? Marinate your chicken and your chicken shouldn't come out dry on a George Foreman Grill. I cook chicken breast all the time on mine and they are extremely juicy. Of course I marinate mine for 24 hours. Simple easiest marinade is Italian Dressing. Just put your chicken breast in a ziploc bag, pour some Italian dressing in with the chicken, toss in the fridge and cook it the next day.

Even so, you should get tested if you've been doing this for a while. At a minimum you'll have a baseline # for the future. Any doctor will tell you it's still not that healthy to eat that much red meat and this is coming from a guy who would kill his best friend for a good steak.

I was under the impression that dietary cholesterol intake did not necessarily affect blood cholesterol levels.
