but i wont do watercooling cos i dont trust them.

Seriously? Bump it to that speed right off the bat? I have the same board and processor, and I thought that it should be done in steps...

Regarding what shady06 said, set your FSB to the default speed for your chip. I don't know if all 2500+ chips support 400 (200 MHz x 2). Then, if your chip is unlocked, just start bumping up the multiplier a step at a time until it starts showing signs of instability. You may be able to get a little moee speed by bumping up the core voltage, but start by finding out how high it goes without the extra voltage.

The other thing you should do is monitor the temp of your chip. If you want to really push the chip, you'll proably want a bigger heatsink than the one that comes with a retail chip. For example, I have an 1800+ running @ 2 GHz (15 x 133) and a larger heatsink. My chip temp, right now, is 30.5 deg. C. It rarely got above 38 deg. C on the warmest summer day.

Check the CPU/Processors and Overclocking forum for more info. 🙂

I walk over to the wall & then remove the clock I have hanging on the wall.

Then I gently place the clock on the floor, then I walk back a few step to gather speed then I jump over my clock.

That's how I overclock.
