How tough is it to return a harddrive at Fry's?

I know they are very lenient on their return policy and what not. I'm not sure about harddrives though since it's shrinkwrapped and there's really no way for them to test to see if you messed it up before accepting it.

How old is it? If it's still within a month and you still have the receipt, they'll take it back.

I'd say 1-2 days. But static bag is cut open although everything else is still intact and new.

I went to frys this past week(not a normal thing for me to do) and i saw a couple dozen, out of the mere thousand they have..., with upc's removed. I didnt know you could do that....Buy a harddrive with rebate, send it in and return the drive...

worst part, they were selling the drive at full retail price

Just bring it back and tell them you didn't need it. THey have one of the most lax return policy around.

As long as the serial numbers match and you are within the period, you shouldn't have a problem. I saw some guy try to return a hard drive with a different serial number than on the box, man did he get it...

fry's sells returns at full price all the time, with no disclaimer that it's open box. that's one reason i refuse to shop there. evil! evil!

They put a small 1"x1" sticker saying that its A Return Item or Factory Refurbished on the label and they write in if its missing stuff or complete. I can't believe they would sell an item with missing stuff at full price, I tried to CD Burner and It said it had missing software and cables and they were selling at full price. I always make sure to seach my package for this sticker before buying anything from there.

I think Frys will accept items with missing UPC codes but only for exchange with the exact same item, but they may not take it back at all.
