How to you pronounced 'snape'?

No no not the Harry Potter Snape you grown up children!

I am going to meet this guy with the said last name. I've heard a guy in my office call him "snappy" :) which I have a feeling is not correct Is it pronounced the same as "snake"?

Sneep. I really don't give a damn what anyone else thinks and I'll continue to pronounce it sneep until the day i die.

if it's a name, how is it not like Professor Snape from Harry Potter? I would say it's pronounced the same way.

It most likely is. I just wanted people to think about it for a second rather than blurt out the first thing that comes to their minds, i.e. the guy from the Harry Potter. I wasn't sure because people do pronounce names differently...i'm still not sure because of the non-serious responses.
