how to write a cover letter to a friend who is in charge for hiring?

I don't want sound too snobbish or desperate, but yet i want to get the job. Can some one show me a few nice sentence that will fit into this situation. thanks.

Write it the same way you would write any cover letter. Just make it professional since they may keep it in your profile. :)

exactly. He'll know you're a friend when he sees your name, and that's enough. If you talk about your friendship in the letter, he might be less willing to hire you so that he doesn't get in trouble for it.

Keep it completely professional and no personal references.

As stated above, he will recognize you. Anything personal will comprimise both you and him. He may actually pass the buck to some-one else and act as a reference for you instead.
