I've been playing this simple game with a friend of mine, and he wups my ass every time. It pisses me off because I keep "missing" the setup! I've had some games go long but it always seems like I am playing "catch up" rather than implementing my own strategy. I also suck against AI opponents. I'm pretty good a checkers and chess but for some reason I suck ass at go-moku.
I'm sure some of you here are really good at this game. It's an asian game and yes, no doubt some of you asians here have been playing it since you were kids (my friend has...I think he has an unfair advantage from all that experience, but that is all the more I want to beat him).
What are some good tricks for setting up the opponent so I can get 5 in a row and WIN?
