I've always wanted to do it, but always just end up with spit all over my hands. Anyone know a tutorial or instructions of how to whistle (loudly) using your hands?

Jugs

btw: Anyone know a good knock knock joke?

Hold up your hands with your palms facing outward. Line up your two thumbs side by side, with the left thumb slightly higher than the right one.

The bottom/base of your thumbs on your left and right hands should be touching, but the natural arch in your thumbs will form a small opening near the bottom.

Next, wrap about 1inch of your right hand fingers over the upside of your left hand. Make sure there is no gap between your right index finger and your left thumb.

Now, close your right palm over onto your left palm, keeping your other fingers in position. You can then put your mouth over the bend in your thumbs and blow through the top part of the opening. The air should flow out of the bottom part of the gap.

There can also be an opening in the rear, but that may be harder to do at first. But once you get that down you should be able to adjust that to change the pitch.,

It's hard to explain in words.

I thought you meant like ~really loud~ as in when you put two index fingers under your tongue and blow air between your fingers and tongue.

I can do that, but would like to make the same whistle without any hands. That would be cool

It took me a few days to get that one, but then again no one explained it to me.

The index fingers touch each other as well as the underside of your tongue. Of course you'll hear just a rush of air when you first do it -- but then try pushing your tongue slighly forwards or backwards, while leaving your fingers in the same spot. You'll eventually hear a whistle in one of those positions.

Oh, so you meant to ask how to whistle with your "fingers", and not "hands".

I can do the thing with the hands, whistle with the fingers, AND without. I'm special.

Please explain in the 'without' scenario, between what 2 objects is air passing in order to generate a sound? Tongue and lower palate ?
