How to view pictures in thunderbird emails?

The new Thunderbird versions seem to just outright block the pictures in an email and does not give the option to view them. Before there used to be a button to show them. I realize they do this for security but it's kinda silly to not even give the user the choice.

Is there a mod or something that will give me that button back? I rather them be blocked by default like it is now, but I at least want to have the option to show them.

Just tried all that, well in the last step, I don't see any button to view images, that's the problem. There used to be one and since I upgraded it's gone. I don't want to globally allow them as I still want them hidden by default. I just want to be able to enable them on a per email basis. Or per sender would be ok too.
