I have a dlink di713 p wireless broadband router and a laptop with the wireless card. I am dropping cable and want to set up a dial up.

Can I use the dlink with my internal modem and use XP networking to share the connection? I have tried looking at manufacturers websites and still am confused. Could someone please help me get started. Thank you,

I actually did this at a friends house. Got a 3com lan modem. Its v.90 and a decent modem, it has 4 rj-45s in the back. Also has some admin features...ip address of the modem, dhcp, subnetting....

Hope that helps.

PS. They are discontinued so you need to try like ebay or something.

If I'm correctly understanding that you only want to share dial-up access thru a router, yes, you can do this. I did. Mine is setup more as an AP.

I have a netgear wireless broadband router and I'm sharing a dial-up connection with a laptop (several pc's, actually). Of course, it's slow (but everything with dial-up is) but it is working. Needless to say, only one user actually surfs the web at a time.
