how to use wireless with an apple

i have a old G3. i dont have a ethernet connection nearby so i need to use wireless. do i need to buy that airport extreme stuff or can i just buy a netgear/belkin/linksys pci wireless card and be good to go? if yes, any particular reccomendations that are known to work well with macs?

You can google a bit and find the specific brands of wireless PCI cards that will work with a Mac with 10.3 / 10.4. I recall Belkin and a few other brands made compatible cards. I used a Belkin myself for a while; worked very well.
