how to use TV as computer monitor - help

I cant seem to get my computer display to change to TV. I have a gf2 mx 400 w-svideo out going to my TV. I know you need to change the display to TV but it wont let me. also the last time i did this i used a program, but my freind who has win xp doesnt need one. any suggestions?

Goto Nvidia's site and update the video driver and try it again

I just started right before you posted that

FYI - new 40.72 drivers released Yesterday (if you have a nvidia card)

Still no dice

TV's have lower resolution! 600X800 may be all you can do.

excuse me 640 X 480. Try from that resolution and try to bump it up a little.

piasabird has it right, you need to set the desktop to a maximium of 800X600 @ 60Hz resolution/refresh rate for TV-out to work.
