How to use themes without StyleXP?

Just installed WinXP. I read that you can use the themes without installing StyleXP which is just a fancy interface to access the themes which themselves uses WinXP's built-in skinning engine anyways. Can someone tell me the instructions or point me to a website that has them? Thanks in advance.
