How to use HP-UX?

I've managed several Linux boxes but am completely new to HP-UX.

Is there a website where I can download "getting started guide" or "HP-UX for dummies"?
I've looked on Google but they're not what I'm looking for.

I turned on this new HP-UX workstation but there's no video signal on the monitor. Is there anything else I need to do besides pressing the power button??

Edit:
Can someone please tell me how to set up NIS and NFS so that this HP-UX workstation will authenticate and connect to the NIS/NFS server on our network??

Or a website would be fine too. There doesn't seem to be any step-by-step guide on Google.

Welcome to the world of commercial unix where nothing is quite what you expect it to be.

As for the video signal, I can't imagine you'd have to do anything special for it. Sun and DEC/HP both POST and boot normally from just a power on. It's possible the box was setup for a serial console before, that might cause it to ignore the VGA port.

Do you have the model of the workstation?

My enterprise application runs on HP-UX. Good stuff. Do you have any plans for it, or just playing/learning?

Someone has to be old enough to remember the old sync-on-green crap... Maybe you're trying to hook up an incompatible workstation/monitor combination...

God, sync on green sucked.

Thanks for everyone's feedback.

Called HP tech support. We troubleshot over the phone for about 2 hours, and found out even though the LCD monitor was shipped w/ the workstation, it wasn't set up w/ the video card.
I had to keep tapping on the Tab key during POST to enter the graphics card/monitor configuration interface, and select the mode I need.
Now it boots up to CDE just fine; though I still need to figure out why the NIS client wouldn't work w/ my NIS server running on RHEL 4.

It's a C3750 Visualize workstation running HP-UX 11i by the way. Our development dept wants to port our software to HP-UX, and the only IT staff w/ any Linux/Unix experience is me so that's how I got stuck w/ this project.

I think this explains how to setup NIS on HP-UX, the server side anyhow. But it might give you clues on how to do it.

A google search returned a bunch of books that claim to have information on it.

This (PDF, sorry) seems to explain how to setup an HP-UX machine as a client to a Windows based NIS server. Not sure how much of it is relevant.
