Wash the rice, put the water in, then put the rice in, boil it until steaming hot.

Serve with chicken or beef on the top, serves 4-6 people.

I always put the water in, then the rice in, and plugged it in. I usually used 2 cups of water per 1 cup of rice. Make sure you WASH the rice before you put it in..otherwise you will have a mess. Also stir up the rice when its done, or you will get that rice skin on the bottom.

He said rice cooker.

Mine is a 100 dollar fancy-smancy rice cooker, you just wash the rice, but it in the cooker, add the appropriate amount of water and wait for the light on the front to turn from "cooking" to "warming". Works like a charm :)

I thought it's 1:1 water:rice ratio?

depends on the kind of rice really

Shoot, is it 2:1 or 1:1? I'm cooking brown rice

Experiment, man! Grow some damn balls!

I did have balls until I lost them during my last experiment with a kitchen appliance....

Usually these things come with instructions. Look up the make and model online.

I don't wash the rice. I don't stir it after it's done. no problems AT ALL. I've been using this rice cooker for the last, gosh, at least 5 years.

plus, I use ~1:1 because I don't like the wet mushy rice.

Rice doesn't grow in the cleanest of places you know. You sometimes get the occasional small rock, unpeeled rice, and other goodies.
