My house has a little sauna room that we havn't bothered to use since we moved in. Lately I've been itching to use it... can anyone who has experience help me out?

It's a room with wood on all sides, and a heater with the rocks on it in one corner. The controls (on the outside of the room) have a temperature control and a timer.

So how do I go about starting it, and using it? I've barely even been in saunas before, so I've got no clue. Where and when do I put the water? What's a good comfortable temperature? What's the timer for?

Wouldn't your computer die or something?

Sauna's are great...Basic use:

1) Heat stones to ungodly temps(likely electrically if they are in the house)
2) Bake in sauna at the highest temps at which you are still comfortable (not sure what the recommended range is but I think I have been in sauna where a thermometer read 160F or so maybe even 180...but I really can't remember)
3) Occasionally douse stones with water to keep the humidity up near whatever you like.
4) Occasionally douse self with ice cold water just because it feels nice when baking at 140-190
5) Be careful not to overheat yourself. Also be aware that metal at sauna temperatures can leave skin burns.

Official and confirmed.

I'm going to have to add "sauna" to the list of unnecessary accoutrements I will build in my house.
