I was given a Duron 700mhz chip. i'm using a k7s5a pro board, and the multiplier is locked at 7.

Is using the pencil trick on the L5 bridge all that's needed to unlock it?

And how high can i o/c a duron 700mhz?

I thought that AMD's first locked chip was one of the athlon xp barton's, which came long after the 700mhz Duron.

Hmmmm, guess im just confused.

The pencil trick is what you need. You will have to search the tall grass for it.

I overclocked a Duron 800mhz to 900mhz.

It is ubersimple, take a pencil with high graphite content, I use a mechanical pencil, and connect the L1 bridges being careful they don't touch each other. That is it, you now have full multi control :) Most the T-bird 1.2-1.4ghz CPUs allowed multi manipulation stock.
