How to unlock a AMD XP cpu?

A buddy of mine said this. is this true?

u need to fill the pits between the L1 contacts with supergule, then connect the L1 contacts witha a conductive pen or some defogger repair kit from a auto store

is there a site that shows me how to unlock it if i where to get a XP?

Unlocking isn't as easy as it looks...
Took several attempts before I was able to unlock my XP1800..
Those darn bridges are just so small...

Yes, it's true that you can unlock an XP by filling in the pits, but it's not that simple since the L1 bridges are so small.
The best idea is to use some scotch tape and do each bridge separately(use 2 pieces and do 1 "pit" at a time). It has to be done with a non conductive filler cause there have been copper connects found under the black of the pits. After you fill the pits, you can't use the pencil trick cause it provides the wrong resistance for the XP cpu. Use something like silver conductive paint. You have to make sure that the bridges do not touch each other or you will short out your chip(that's why you use the tape to separate the L1 bridges). It makes it faster and alot easier to perform.
