How to Undo network setup wizard in XP?

I ran the network setup wizard in XP but changed my plan and don't need to setup the network after all. So, I'd like to know how to undo the changes that the setup wizard made?

XP powertoys got rid of the network places icon from the desktop, but I still have my network places listed when I Explore the disks.

Thanks,
BGC

If you want totaly to get rid of every thing in one shot you have to take out the (or switch Off an onboard) Network card, and reboot one time without a card.

Otherwise, make sure that your File Sharing is Off and after a while it will disappear.

Since I'm not going to setup a network, I wanted to delete the workgroupname and get rid of the network places in windows explorer. I found help for the windows explorer removal by adding a registry key.

Thanks,
BGC

Can you tell me how to turn off my network card so I can try that way? I have the same problem as the OP.

When I go to the LAN properties, I don't see any option to turn off file sharing where I was told it should be, under Advanced, so I don't know how to try your other suggestion.

First you should know that even if you have one computer the Network settings are needed if you have broadband Internet connection (Cable Internet or DSL).

The sharing is Not in the LAN properties but on each component that can be shared.

Start Windows Explorer right click on a Drive or folder that are shared and you can get to share setting.

Share should be switched Off if there are not used, but otherwise the residual of the Network setting do not do ant thing and it does not make a difference what so ever if they are around.
