How to un-remember password in IE?

Ok here's the situation.

Friend A sat down at Friend B's computer to check his course-schedule online for this semester. In the process he checked off the "remember my password" box in IE. Now Friend B can't check her own schedule because it never even prompts her for her account/password, it just uses his which is stored somewhere.

I tried deleting cookies, history, temporary internet files, closing and re-opening the browser... I can't undo his auto-login.

Can anyone tell me how to fix this?

Try turning off autocomplete for passwords.

CONTROL PANEL, INTERNET OPTIONS, CONTENT, AUTO COMPLETE, then uncheck auto password

Not exactly.

First of all, people should experiment and only then cry for help. You're like my Dad who is afraid to go to Options, Preferences, or any other advanced section of a program.

But the answer is:

Open Internet Explorer and navigate to ANY site.
"Tools" menu, "Internet Options" menu item
"Content" tab
"AutoComplete" button

Now, clear whichever saved data you want to be forgotten.

clearing the cookies should of done it.. at least it always clears all my passwords when I do it :( .. but yeah, you can also turn off the autocomplete for it

I`m fairly sure you need to delete "index.dat" in temp folder, it usually tells you it`s in use, but a search on Google will tell you how to get rid of it.

Deleting that file will not accomplish anything. First of all, you must mean in the "Temporary Internet Files" folder, not in the Temp folder. Second of all, normally you can't delete that file. Additionally, it will invalidate all your cookies but will keep them on your drive.

So let's not give bad advice ;)
