Can you "build" every single character?

Don't confuse my words, I very much like that approach to characters. I don't know if OS X has that capability to "build" based on adding more characters, I'll have to dig into that. However, I am sure there are plenty of characters that are not easily determined based on other characters that may look it. Registered is easy, it sounds like. It's an R plus a Circle, which is what it looks like.

Every character? Probably not, but it should be able to handle anything an Anglo/Euro would want that doesn't involve making funny pictures. I don't know how it works with non-Roman alphabets.

How do you bring up the character map in Windows these days?

On iOS you just hold down the "o" key, and "ø" is one of the options. If you hold down the "O" key, then "Ø" is one of the options.

EDIT:

In XP it is here:

Start > All Programs > Accessories > System Tools > Character Map

In Windows 7 I just start typing cha-racter in the search box under the Start Orb. Brings up the character map every time.

For laptops it's a bitch using the ALT + (some number) because you need a numeric keypad so you have to use the FN key and the ALT key. Now it's night and I can barely see my laptop keyboard for shit. The only light I live by at night is the TV and a light up picture on the wall here in the up stairs TV room. LOL Yes I know, one day I'll be blind.

Since the slash on the no symbol goes the other way (top left to bottom right), no one has truely answered this question yet (Eug was close but that is an image not really a way to type it). https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/No_symbol

The "Wingdings 2" font has two versions of it. These will appear to the right if you have that font installed: WX

Edit: Oops, missed Rakehellion's post.

A fine OS if it weren't for that meddling DirectX. :colbert:

yuck no.

It was great at the time. Time proved it wasn't great at all. Regardless of DX. NT 5 was only great compared to NT 4. NT 6.0 and beyond wipe the floor with XP.
