How to turn off Touchpad on Dell laptop?

I have a Dell Latitude CPi laptop. It's old; PII-266, 128mb memory. Works great for Office Apps/email/surfing.

I use a full size mouse with it, but when I type, the edge of my thumb keeps hitting the touchpad and screwing things up.

Is there a way to turn the touchpad OFF? I looked in Device Mangler and it's not listed.

have a look in bios.
you may have an option to disable the touchpad when a ps/2 mouse is plugged in.
