How to turn off browser sounds?

All of a sudden IE8 is clicking every time I hit a link and then several times as different things load onscreen. It's never done this before and it's very annoying. How do I turn this off? I don't want to turn off all sounds, just this clicking in the browser. THanks.

Go to the Sounds section of the control panel and remove the sound attached to 'Start Navigation.'

That setting sometimes resets itself on my work computer, very very annoying.
