Hi Everyone,
I wanted to say Hello before I ask any questions since I just joined the forums today. Anyways, I'm a Software Developer of 8 years now and 2.5 in Technical Support before taking on this line of work but being that my Bachelor's and soon to be Master's (Info Assurance and Sec) are both IT/Networking related I'm finally looking in to taking the plunge and switching gears.
It really isn't about the lifestyle of an IT/Network guy seems like greener pastures but more along the lines of what always drove me. The Software Developer job was just a great opportunity at the time and now that I'm "older" I'm looking to add more passion in to my work life.
With all that being said what can a guy like me do to transition in to a role such as Network Engineer or Administrator? Outside of schooling and fiddling with stuff at my house (E-mail Server, Web Server, Raspberry Pi, etc) I'm pursuing my CCNA. So any suggestions? Have any of you ever been in this transition before?
Thanks for the help everyone and nice to meet ya!
