I was too cheap to go that route. Already had a GeForce DDR so I just bought the ATI TV Wonder VE ($39.95) stand-alone card instead. Works pretty darn well considering the price, but it doesn't support on-the-fly .mpg1 compression. The pricier TV Wonder ($79.75) does that, but image and audio quality is the same.
Not a big deal for me. I just record about 1/2 hrs at a time using the proprietary VCR1 format and then use a freeware utility like Avi2mpeg to convert the .avi file into a more generic .mpg format so I can play it on other machines and fit it all on one 80min CDR.
