The topic pretty much says it all. I need to do this for my dad, as he has a new HD and needs the contents (in some cases, this for example) moved from one HD to the other.

I've had no problems moving anything else over in the past. Eudora for example I just dragged and dropped.

The problem here is I can't seem to figure out where Outlook Express keeps all the files, IE his emails, and all their accompanying attachments. I really need help on this, as I simply can't figure it out.

Thanks guys,

I'm not sure if this is correct but you should try:

Outlook keeps a .pst file in your Local Settings folder.
This .pst file saves all your emails and all your folders/subfolders with emails. You should check Documents & Settings\Adminstrator (or your username)\Local Settings\Application Data\Microsoft\Outlook. In this folder there should be a .pst file (probably called "outlook.pst". You will have to import this file into your new email program. Hope this helps.

Actually I just figured out how to do it. Here is a quick rundown in case anyone else has this problem.

Locate the directory \windows\application data\microsoft\outlook express\ on your old hard drive setup and copy/move the entire directory over to the same location on the new hard drive.

Then simply load up Outlook on the new hard drive, goto import/messages and follow the on screen instructions and point the program to the directory you just moved all those files to in the first step.

You'll need to repoint the program to your address book as well, following similar steps.

Good luck all!
