Like it was previously stated, the easiest thing would be to pull the old hard drive, install it in the new one temporarily and copy all of the files, even if you only need the Quickbooks data file, to a folder (I usually name it "old drive"). This way you have everything on the new system already, and you don't need to go back to the old one for some stray file he wants. You also need to turn the 'view all files' feature on in XP so that you can be sure to get all of the files. Then put the old drive back in the original system and make sure it boots again. Now tell the newly installed Quickbooks, on the XP system, you want to open an existing company, and point it to the data that was copied over.
