Mmm, I have a mailcity account (now lycos) which I have been using for 7 years. I've long reached the capacity limit on that account and would like to transfer all the email from that account to Gmail, or HD or sbcglobal.net (which is where my outlook is at). How do I do it? Sorry, I really need some help here.

Thanks.

If you are using Outlook for SBC email, just create another email account (ex. HCMail)
and log into that account.

To setup OE 5 or later

1. From the Tools menu, choose "Accounts."
2. Select the "Mail" tab.
3. Click the "Add" button.
4. From the Add menu, click "Mail."
5. Type your full name in the "Display Name" box.
6. Click "Next."
7. In the Email Address box, type your email address.
8. Under "My incoming mail server is a [ ] server" select "POP3" from the dropdown.
9. Type "pop.mail.lycos.com" for the Incoming Mail (POP3, IMAP, or HTTP) server.
10. Type "smtp.mail.lycos.com" for the Outgoing Mail (SMTP) server.
11. Click "Next."
12. In the Account Name box, type your entire Mail address.
13. In the Password box, type your email password.
14. If you want Outlook Express to remember your password, check the "Remember password" box.
15. Do not check the boxes labeled "Log on using Secure Password Authentication (SPA)."
16. Click "Next."
17. Click "Finish."

If you have the mail saved on the Server there is a good chance you can get it into OE

Thanks so much. Now in step 7, I typed in my mailcity account, but it's not letting me do that. I think I need to upgrade my mailcity account in order to have pop3 feature, is that possible?

Lycos changed their policy and requires an upgrade to a pop3 (Premium account) even if you are just trying to retrieve old messages.

Click on the HELP url on Lycos Mail website for more info ($9.95 for 1 yr/10mb)
