How can I do that? I had wcpuclk in my start-up but I wanted it out. So I went to my system configuration and unchecked the box next to the thing, but it keeps on coming back on boot-up. SO then I just moved the thing and Windows searches for it on boot-up. So now I am stuck just cancelling the search. Could someone please give me instructions on how to take the darn thing out of my startup?

You could run a search through your registry for the name of the executable. When you find the string with it in it, you could delete it or use the msconfig utility.

the most common places are
in the startup folder, probably c:\windows\start menu\programs\startup for most people
and also in the registry under local machine (or current user)\software\microsoft\windows\current version\run (and run services)

i suppose that autoexec.bat and win.ini could also cause some stuff to open but thats not all that common

Startup Cop is similar to StartUp Control Panel. I have used both and they both work fine. The Startup Cop link also has a brief rundown of what/why/how a program is executed at startup. StrtUp Control Panel appears to be a 'leaner', minimalist program. Startup Cop has more options. I'm no programmer so I don't know if there are any advantages/disadvantages in the code for either product but they work. There is undoubtably a way to do the same things without these programs.
