Hi I would like to ask how to totally remove a device driver off windows' driver database? or what application can I use to do this. What I mean is the "driver" installed and windows stores in its database.
This is the case my internal modem, before when I connect this device in the system windows automatically detects it and automatically installs the generic driver "it has" in windows' driver database. but I have its own official drivers so I installed the official driver on-top of the default generic windows driver (by either "update driver" or just install the official driver).
Now when I try to remove the device and uninstall the official driver I installed through add/remove programs (it will show you that windows has uninstalled the driver, but it really doesnt remove everything). And when I try to re-detect/reinstall the driver of the device, what windows will install and will provide me is the official driver I have installed and whatever I do it just defaults to the driver I installed and not the generic driver.
I would like to know how to completely and totally remove the official driver of the device off windows so that when I re-install/re-detect the device windows will default to install the generic driver windows has for this particular device.
