i have norton antivirus 2003 pro and i dont know if it is working properly. where i can download a fake virus to test if my antivirus sofware is working? is there any other way to test it? thanks

Assuming it's a legit copy call the 1-800 number and ask them.

Or visit a few warez sites and download a non-distructive trojan that you can install, test with, and remove.

No, I wouldnt install any type of trojan.

follow the link that xenos500 provided. ive used it before and my anti virus noticed the downloaded virus right away.

everyone should try this site because if your scanner cant detect this fake virus then your antivirus is just taking up free resources. i posted this in general hardware because i usually dont get a quick response in the software section.

Yawn. Testing with a fake is like going straight from a computer model to production and hoping that your air plane doesn't fall outta the sky.....I'd rather do some Wind Tunnel testing and miniatures.....
