Is there any kind of speed test for wireless routers?

I don't want to use dslreports like speedtest, because that will test the internet connection, I want to test the throughput of the wireless connection.. Is there anyway to do that?
 
i'm sure there must be a better way than what i do:

i have a computer hooked with cable using 100mbit. then download an enormous single file from one computer to another, and have bandwidth monitor on on my laptop. i get about 3-4 megabytes per second (24-32mbit) even though its using 54mbit router and card. i'm sure it goes much faster but there's some inefficiency with my method!!
