How to test cores in DOS?

just bought a 960T/mobo combo (gigabyte) for $90total. unlocked it to 6cores.

i dont have anything installed.
just have usb drive with dos bootup.

anyway to test the cores?

BOINCpe liveCD? Or get Puppy Linux, download Prime95, and run it.

I rather doubt DOS is set up to even recognize two cores.

Linux is far superior, grab an ubuntu iso, transfer it to a usb stick and run y-cruncher and prime95 on it.
