Does anyone know a good way to test to see if an amp is functional or FUBAR? I've lost all sound in my truck, Silverado with Bose setup, but I need to figure out if it's the radio or the amp.

Both fuses are good and the radio is getting power and will even output sound to the rearseat headphone jacks, so I'm starting to think it's the bose amp under my center console that is the problem.

Anyone know a way to test it? Can I use a voltmeter or something?

Thanks guys!

You need to disconnect the audio input to the amp and use another source. Anything with a headphone jack can be used for the source, cd player, mp3 player. If you get no sound then disconnect the speakers from the output and make sure they work . Easy way to check speakers, make sure they are not connected to anything, is to use a AA or C size battery or any 1.5V battery will work. If you hold the speaker ground wire to one side of the battery and tap the positive wire on the + of the battery, the speaker should make noise. If it doesn't the speaker is usually bad.
