How to tell which week KT133A chipset I have?

I have heard talk about chips made in week 50 or higher are better for FSBs over 133.

I have a brand new KT7A-RAID and I was just wondering how I can tell which week it is...

I am currently at 133FSB no probs.

Thanks

i think you might be talking about kt133 mobos and not kt133A .....a kt133 board from any week should be able to do more than 133fsb. a little while ago there was a post about some later kt133 boards possibly doing more than 133fsb but that quickly faded away.

I am quite certain people have been discussing KT133A chips, and when they are made...

You need to look at the second row of numbers on the VIA chip, mine started "0051".

I didnt actually look at the Northbridge, (couldnt be bothered to remove the board from the case and take the HSF off of it!) I just looked at the Southbridge chip.

I am assuming that they will be the same?

FYI I am testing the board at 150 FSB right now...

No its different !!!
they could put different week of north and south bridge, you need to open your northbridge heatsink.

I found this so many times with many different mobo brand.

First thing I'm going to do any way is remove the fan unit from the chipset and put some silver paste on it. But it's the second row of numbers eh?

Yes, second row, first four digit, year then week.

soundsation - you say that the two chips will be different weeks? Damnit, that means I would have to remove the board from my case to get the HSF off of it...<sigh>.

Maybe I'll just "pretend" they are the same :)

TRUE !!!

I am work for computer company and I like to open north bridge to apply thermal paste on it so the cutomer doesn't have to do it anymore.

Lucky you! :)

I guess I am going to have to remove my board then, or live with not knowing.

It may have only been a rumour anyway.

If its the A7V133 you won't have to take your mobo out. 2 screws take off the fan and 2 plastic pins take off the heatsink.

Well if you have hit 150 with a Week 49 then you may have disproved the rumour!

Have you tried to go beyond 150?
