How to tell which video card a laptop from Staples has?!?

OK OK. I have posted a bunch of threads linked to this issue, and now to the latest development.

History: I had a Presario 1500T (Radeon 7500) from Staples w/ warranty. The LCD cracked. Instead of replacing it Staples now wants to just send me a new laptop. They have made a couple offers of notebooks that are actually better than mine, EXCEPT for the video card, which is extremely important to me.

I am trying to find a laptop on Staples site that is 1000-1500 that has a Radeon 7500 equiv or better graphics card. But most just say something like "ATI Mobility Radeon" with no real explanation to which one they are. Does anyone know how to tell? I have checked the manufacturer's sites (i.e. Compaq, HP, Toshiba) and I can't come up with much.

Can anyone help?

THANK YOU SO MUCH

OK I think none of them have very good cards.

The Toshibas they have have a Geforce4 420, that is almost as good as a Radeon 7500, right?

Anyone?

Speedwise, the Radeon 7500 is roughly equivalent to the GeForce4Go 440, so it'll beat a 420 in most every benchmark. The ones that say "ATi Mobility Radeon" are in fact ATi Mobility Radeons (that's their name). The original ATi Mobility Radeon doesn't have Hardware T&L so you don't want it for games.

Cool, the screen is going out on my sisters laptop, I hope they will just send here a new one. Its got S3 graphics so maybe if she payed an extra 50$ she could get a nice GF4MX in it.

anybody know which cards the HPs have on there? all that IGP or whatever card I assume?

Why would you care what kind of video card a laptop has? Just curious. Your not going to play games on it are you?
Playing games on laptops seems to be a waste of time to me. The refresh rates of some of these LCD's are hurrendously low.
This is just my opinion of course. Laptops are (to me) for work. But, if you are going to go for a laptop and you want the best available, you might as well find one with the Mobile version of the GeForce4 Ti4200. They are out now. Dont know which ones though.

I played UT2k3 and it looked great with a Radeon 7500 and a 15" SXGA+, but I suppose thats my opinion...
