How To tell Release date?

Does anyone know how to find out when was a product released?
Like say for instance a Sony Vaio PCG-FRV31 notebook, how would I find out when that model was first created?
Or any other hardware for that matter; as well as the actual manufacturing date. Or is this something not possible to discover?

Thanks

Usually there is a sticker or something that may have this information. I do know for a fact that hard drives have a manufacture date on them somewhere, usually on a sticker somewhere. Processors usually have some code on them that tell manufacture date (if not the date outright, I don't remember). I believe optical drives also have this information on a sticker somewhere on the drive. Just look at the stickers and see. The information may be on your invoice as well, though I doubt that.

Google of course. Manufacturer press releases and initial product reviews. The only tricky part with Japanese manufacturers is that sometimes the US release is months later than in Japan.

Like they said, there is often a label that includes the manufacture date (often the same label as the serial number).

I had tried this, but I had no luck, that's why I asked here. Maybe you could teach me how, by example with this one?
Thanks

I very much apprecaite the replies.
