How to tell nforce 4 driver version?

Sorry if this is a dumb question but a search on the forums failed to turn up anything. Is there an easy way of telling what version of nforce 4 (AMD) chipset drivers are installed?

I recently tried upgrading to the 6.70 driver set but got locked into a continual reboot cycle. I was able to restore to "last good configuration" but am not sure where this left me, although things seem to be working OK.

Appreciate any help ... thanks.

One crude way is to check the individual driver versions (using Device Manager) against the drivers in the various releases as shown below:

nVidia Driver set vs Driver versions - except audio.

Date_______ 03/17/05_____ 06/09/05 __ 06/29/05 ____07/15/05 ___ 10/26/05
Release_____ 6.53________ I-B7.12 ____ I-7.13 ______ 6.66 _______ 6.70
Installer _____ 4.60 _______ 4.72 ________ 4.78 ______ 4.78 _______ 4.93
Ethernet ____ 4.75 ________ 4.82 ________ 4.82 ______ 4.82 _______ 4.82
NAM ______ 4.75 ________ 4.88 ________ 4.88 ______ 4.88 _______ 4.88
SMB _______ 4.45 _______ 4.48 ________ 4.45 ______ 4.45 _______ 4.50
IDE ________ 5.18 _______ 5.33 ________ 5.35 ______ 5.34 _______ 5.52
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I've reinstalled the 6.70 drivers but skipped the IDE SW and audio drivers. Seemed to install and rebooted with no problem but I still can't seem to locate nforce driver versions, even through Device Manager.

So does anyone know how to do this? It's unusual for this forum to not have a solution for something.

If you use Device Manager, click on "Network Adapters", then double click on "nVidia nForce Networking Controller", and click on "Driver" you should see the driver info for the NIC.

With 6.70 loaded I see:

Driver Provider: NVIDIA
Driver Date: 4/6/2005
Driver Version: 4.8.2.0
etc.

This agrees with the info from my previous post (more or less), where the version is given as 4.82 which I expect should be re-interpreted as 4.8.2.0

I'm not sure whether you don't agree with the re-interpreting to remove the decimal points or what...

Please be more specific on your problem.

Thanks GadgetBuilder - I'm able to check the versions with your method. I was just wondering whether there was some type of overall version summary but I guess you need to just check them individually through Device Manager.

I didn't mean to take anything away from your suggestions and appreciate your time taken to post a reply.
