How to tell if you have a XP 1700+ T-Bred B ?

Computer store down the road sells them and you can see the stepping codes but the price is $58.

Newegg is selling them for $42 but you never know which version you gonna get. So I'm trying to decide if it's worth an extra $16 if I can get a guarenteed "B" version.

Opinions?

yes!

lots of people are reporting getting A's from newegg...

You can tell if it's a "b" by looking at the second line of coding...

if it reads JIUH"B" then it's a B

but if you see something like AIRG"A" then it's an A

also there are two varieties of these 1700+ B's

there is the "U" version and the "L" version

In the first line of code it'll read DLT3C OR DUT3C... if you can try to pick a DLT3C that's a JIUHB

before the B's were released, A's were also DLT3C so make sure you look carefully!!!

in terms of month/week ... try to get a 0310

this is what you usually see on a T-bred b chip
AXDA1700D*T3C
JIUHB0310WMPW

T-bred b's have 2 voltages, which are either L-1.5v or U-1.6v
in general, L overclocks better than U. t-bred a's also have these 2 voltages
But you'll also need to check the stepping, which is usually JIUHB that confirms it is a T-bred B. it'll confirm that is it a T-Bred B. other examples are JIUGB.
the 0310 means, made in 10th week of 2003

hope this helps
