How to tell if this email is legit?

After seeing so many scams from people trying to get PayPal and eBay passwords, I feel the need to be cautious.

At any rate, I got the following email today and was wondering how to find out if it is legit. I have an email into verizon, and am awaiting a reply.
FROM: email.manager2@verizon.net

Why not just call them and ask them?
I will if I need to. I just don't seem to have the will to wade through a bunch of phone menus only to sit on hold. 😉

open the message

goto, VIEW--->OPTIONS

it will be the Internet Headers section at the bottom.

Cut and Paste that into your REPLY here.

I'd call and as before doing anything. The .net extention seems questionable; but then again, Verizon probably owns all of the domain extentions. It's worth checking out though.
