I have non retail boxed Gainward GF Ti4200 64mb. How do I tell if I have 3.3ns or 3.5ns memory?

don't think software will tell you, only the mhz its running at at the moment, like rivatuner. guess the only way is the look at the memory chips and read it off

Does it really matter? I don't think the performance difference of .2 is worth checking out.

Yes because the 3.3ns is the "golden sample" with higher memory clock speed.

My point is the difference that you would clock the memory based on a .2ns difference in RAM speed wouldn't be noticeable in performance. ("Golden Sample Orange Duckling" model or not, and I'm doubting their bulk pack is their best stuff in any case)

well, in his case it'll be 30mhz ddr speed difference.

also, you can't just say .2 is nothing. somthing like 5 to 4.8ns is small, but say from 2.2 to 2.0 ns, is huge.

In his specific example, the RAM he's asking about might be 5% faster, your latter example is 10%. I stand by my .2ns RAM not making a noticeable difference on the Ti4200.

On the other hand, shouldn't the company you bought it from be able to tell you?

I beg to differ... my 3.3 ns RAM will run at 650 Mhz... whereas my old video card with 3.5 ns RAM would only run at 520
