how to tell CPU temp

How do you tell what temperature your CPU is running at? I have a Dell system, and according to AIDA32, my CPU supports thermal monitoring.

Actually, your Dell probably does not have a temperature diode under the cpu. Do cpu's come with temperature diodes built-in now? I have no idea.

However the Dell utlitiy in the BIOS is probably going to be taking the SMBus for itself to control clock rates and fan speeds. When I installed SpeedFan on a Dell comp I guess SpeedFan took over the SMBus and as a result the system throttled down the processor and set all the fans to 100% and I couldn't change it.
