I got some 64mb Seimens PC100 SDRAM, and I was wondering if there is any way to tell what the CAS latency should be running at, I have it at 3 now, but I did change it to 2 and it booted into windows fine, but I chickened out and changed it back to 3 soon after because I dont know what would happen if it didnt like that setting.

So is there any utility or somthing to check to see what its supposed to run or capable of running at?

Or is the only way to tell by actually run it at 2 to see what happens. What would be some things that would happen if it doesnt like the cas 2 setting?

teh best way is to check the manufacturers tech sheets. Short of that i would jsut set it at cas2 and leave it there until you see anormailties.

If you run your memory at cas2 and it's not spec'ed to run at that you might get mysterious errors in Windows. Not a big deal, just flip it back to cas3. You will not do any damage to your memory.
