How to tell 9200 from 9200 PRO?

I just bought a DELL 1901 FP LCD monitor (fantastic) and want to buy a video card with DVI output. Gaming is not a priority. I just want the best picture quality. My local dealer strongly suggests an ATI 9200 Pro. However, the ATI box he showed me read 9200 on it. He said it is a 9200 Pro but could not explain why the box read 9200.

How can I tell if it is a Pro? What are difference in specs between the 9200 and the 9200 PRO?

I don't know the default settings of either but I'd guess the Pro has higher core and memory clock speeds. You should be able to fire it up with Rage3D Tweak and find out what it's default settings are. Have him put it into a machine there and prove to you it's a pro before you buy it.

"Pro" cards aren't ever fanless, while most non-pro cards are. That's the first clue. Then, non-pro cards as well as "Pro EZ" cards have 5 ns (DDR400) RAM while full blown Pro cards have much faster chips. "Pro" and "Pro EZ" cards use a higher clocked core as non-pro.
9200SE uses even slower core and RAM, and only half as many RAM chips, halving bandwidth.
