The hard drive inside of it is dead and I'd like to put a new one in... How do I do this? It's non-mybook external HD.

Does it not have screws to take it apart? They may not be normal screws...maybe the torx type screws that looks like stars or something?

I got it apart. Is there some guide online how to fix a "clicking" hd? I tried the freezer trick and I didn't work. I am going to try to swap out the parts with one that's the same model.

Are you going to replace the entire drive, or are you trying to take the components out of the dead one and put them in a working one to try and recover the data?

Good luck with that. It's possible...but i've never done it. I am sure there is a how-to somewhere online that explains it and gives some tips and tricks.
