How to take a working driver I forced to install then edit it to work w/o forcing?

I have an Abit AirPace PCI Express WiFi 802.11B/g card. The latest drivers from Abit cause a BSOD in Windows 7 as soon as I join a network and every time I restart after that. The drivers that everyone online suggest using appear to cause a random stability issue (hard locks). Windows 7 does not recognize and install drivers automatically, but it does have compatible Atheros drivers that have worked fine for me the last week when I force it to install and use them. I'd like to extract them and edit the inf or whatever so that they install for this card automatically. How can I do that?
