Is there a specific way to do it? better question: would something go wrong if i do it wrong? (i.e. kill the PSU or mobo)

can i just strip the insulation on the wires and twist the bare wires together... then use the black electric tape to tape it together?
or do i need to solder it or heatwrap it or whatever?

i've never messed with computer wires before... i've done other electrical appliance wire.. and i just do the twisting the bare wire thing... but i know computers are more picky...

oh.. and i want to replace the PSU fan too.. any special instruction for that?

thanks guys.. i know this is a stupid question... but i already have more than my share of dead PSUs

I myself use just the technique you describe: I twist the bare wires together and then wrap it up in electrical tape. Its not pretty, but it works, and thats all that matters.

As for replacing the PSU fan, do the same thing. Just be careful not to touch any capacitors!!! Or anything else for that matter. You could be seriously injured if you brushed the wrong part.
