How to synchronize the settings/features for all user accounts in XP?

I got a rootkit, so after reformatting have decided to take the wise advice of those in the security forum. To that I have a regular limited user account setup that I use most of the time, and when I need to install something, I use the admin account. However, it really annoys me that when I make a new folder on the desktop, change a file association, etc on the admin account, it doesn't change on the limited account. In fact, right now I can't even change any file associations at all on the limited account..how do I fix this?

TIA

That's how a limited account works - it typically can only change settings on a per-user basis. Typically when you install as admin the program allows you to make changes to either only the one user doing the install (the admin account) or to all users.

But how can I change a file association under the limited account? It won't let me do it when logged in as limited account, and if I do it under admin, it only applies to that account.
