how to switch xp to 256 colors

ok,i need to switch to 256 colors before i can install bad mojo cause it stops at the beginig and says must be in 256 to install. how do i do this??????????????????thanks to all:disgust:

Right click the shortcut to the program, click properties, click Compatibilty, click Run in 256 Colors.

I don't think WindowsXP natively support 256 colors since nobody uses it anymore so you will have to emulate it.

That works when you want to run the application but it does not switch over to 256 when the installer starts so you can not reach that point.

Go to Display Properties->Settings->Advanced->Adapter->List All Modes and choose the resolution you want along with 256 colors.

What you need is an EMULATOR. Google for:

DOSBOX or SCUMMVM (for Lucas games) and maybe VDMSound............or similar.

Try Sourceforge ......and Vogons Zetafleet for more info on old DOS based games.

It works fine for me using XP Pro with an nvidia card. When I choose '1280x960, 256 Colors, 85Hertz' it adds another selection to to the drop down dialog for "Low (8-bit)".
