How To Switch Out Of The Windows 10 S Mode

Windows 10 in S mode completely locks the installation of application only from the Microsoft store to prevent dangerous executable files. Sometimes, the user might want to download the applications that are present outside the store. In this case, the users are provided an opportunity to switch out of the Windows 10 S mode easily. Here is how the user can instantly switch out of the Windows 10 S mode.

Step 1
Click the ‘Start Windows’ Icon

User must click the ‘Start Windows’ icon that is situated at the leftmost corner of the taskbar. On clicking, you will see the recently accessed settings and files.

Step 2
Click the ‘Settings’ Icon

Now the user has to click the ‘Settings’ icon to view the different settings related to accounts, users, privacy options for your Windows 10 system.

Select the ‘Updates & Security’ Option

In the settings window, the user must click the ‘Updates & Security’ option. On clicking this option, you will find many options for enhancing the security of your system and regarding updating to different modes of Windows 10.

Click the ‘Activation’ Option

In the updates and security settings, the user must click the ‘Activation’ option in order to find the sub-options related to the Windows update.

Click the ‘Go to the Store’ Option

In the right pane window of the activation settings, you will find the current edition of Windows. Here it is displayed as ‘Windows 10 Pro in S mode’. To switch out of this mode, the user must click the ‘Go to the Store’ link as shown below.

Click ‘Get’ Option

In the Microsoft Store, the user must click the ‘Get’ option as shown to completely switch out of the Window 10 S more to download the apps outside the store.

Click the ‘Close’ Button

Now you have the Windows without the S mode to install apps that are outside the store. Now press the ‘Close’ button.

Click the ‘System’ Option

To check the Windows mode, the user must click the start windows icon. Then click the ‘Settings’ option and then click the ‘System’ settings option.

Click the ‘About ‘ Option

The user must select the ‘About’ option to find the current mode of the Windows 10.

Windows 10 Pro will be your Current Edition

Now in the about section, the user will find the version as Windows 10 Pro and out of S mode and you can download apps outside the store.
