I'm trying to use a PC power supply to cool off my home theater components and I'm not real sure how to hook it up. I have a standard 250 Watt ATX Power Supply (20 pin connector). And I want to hook a switch directly to the power supply to turn it on/off. I'm going to be running about 3 other fans off this power supply. I'm just not sure which connectors do what...I see there are a few different voltages (+5v red, +12v yellow, -5v white, -12v blue, +3.3v brown and of course the ground black) and there are quite a few reds, blacks and browns any idea which ones I would use to connect to the switch??? let me know if anyone has any ideas? I don't want to just start trial and error with this one!!! Common sense would tell me to connect it to the red and black but I don't want to blow anything or risk electrocuting myself as I don't have enough experience with this stuff!
I know there are probably easier ways to cool stereo components but I have an extra Power supply and a few fans laying around and wanted to use them.
TIA
